Your Road to a Virginia Driver’s License Starts Here! 🚗
Congratulations! You’re one step closer to earning your Virginia driver’s license—and we’re here to help you along the way!
Step 1: Get Your Virginia Learner’s Permit
Before beginning your behind-the-wheel training, you will generally need to obtain a Virginia learner’s permit.
To apply, you must:
Be at least 15 years and 6 months old
If you are under 18, have written consent from a parent or legal guardian
Complete the Virginia driver’s license application
Pass the Virginia learner’s permit exam
You do not need to complete a behind-the-wheel course before applying for your learner’s permit.
Visit your nearest Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) customer service center to complete the application and take your permit exam.

Step 2: Hold Your Learner’s Permit
Once you receive your learner’s permit, you’ll need to hold it for at least nine months before moving on to the next step toward your Virginia driver’s license.
This is your opportunity to practice, gain experience, and build confidence behind the wheel.
Step 3: Complete Driver Education
To obtain your Virginia driver’s license, you must complete an approved driver education program, such as the behind-the-wheel program offered by us!
Our program combines classroom instruction with hands-on driving experience and covers important topics such as:
🚦 Traffic laws and road awareness
🚗 Safe driving and parking techniques
📵 Distracted and aggressive driving
🍺 The dangers of drug and alcohol-impaired driving
👀 Observation and defensive driving skills
🛣️ Real-world driving situations
Students participate in both behind-the-wheel instruction and observation periods, giving them valuable experience in a variety of driving situations.
